Watching movies outside

This summer we've watched a lot of movies outside.  We went to a camp out night at Colony (we didn't camp) that we watched a pool-side movie there.  That night was like a big party and was a lot of fun.  Then, we went to Heritage Park and watched Frozen outside.  That was fun too and Lukey and Anna dressed up for that as Elsa and Olaf.  It was their idea to dress up.  Surprisingly, Lukey stayed dressed up the whole time!  So, these events gave us the idea to have our own backyard movie night.  You can't tell from the pictures how cool it was, but it worked out really well!  We used a projector Tim brought home from work a few years ago and set up a sheet on the soccer goal for the screen.  The kids watched Despicable Me 2 while we made S'mores and Tim and I sat by the fire and drank grown up root beer.   Great night!

The fire pit is a new addition to our house as part of our anniversary celebration.  (7 years is the copper anniversary so the fire pit was something we bought to celebrate.  Maybe there's some copper in the fire pit?  Probably not, but close enough).  The kids stayed with Nana and Pa Bob so that we could have a peaceful evening sitting outside and drinking sangria without kids.  We hadn't had a no kids night for 2 years.  We missed them but it was nice to relax.  As part of our anniversary celebration, Tim and I roasted homemade cheese sticks and brie with croissant.   Cheese roasting was not a total success, but was still fun.  The s'mores we roasted for the kids then next day though were really good!
