A Day on the Farm

Yesterday, Katherine's family invited us to go to Real Life Farm for a charity event at the farm.  There were animals, hayrides, a bouncehouse, donkey rides, firetrucks, etc.  The kids had a great time!  It was a very fun event.  Thanks for the invite Katherine's family!
Lukey on his first hayride.  He liked watching the tractor pull the wagon.
Anna on her first hayride.  She found it to be very relaxing.

Lukey refused to go in the bouncehouse at gymnastics but didn't hesitate to go in at the farm.  He refused to get out when he was supposed to.  I had to go in and fetch him out.

Anna loved the chickens.  She's just like her mama.  She really is an animal lover.  She got really excited to see the chickens and all the other animals.

You know when Anna likes something because she gets her pointing finger out.  She likes to point like this to pictures she likes in books.  Her favorites are usually animals.

Lukey living his dream.  He really likes firetrucks right now.  We frequently take walks by the firestation to see the firetrucks.  He also likes to hear bedtime stories about firetrucks and Flynn the firefighter (from Thomas).

Last day of Gymnastics

Lukey just completed his last gymnastics class after 2 sessions.  He really improved since his first day.  He somewhat learned about taking turns and playing with other kids and all kinds of other gymnastics tricks like jumping on the trampoline, walking on balance beams, stretches somersaults, etc.  I'll admit though, it was a workout being there with him.  His behavior seemed to get better for awhile, then worse again towards the end.  He always wanted to do his own thing and run towards the block pit or trampoline whenever he got a chance.  He had a lot of fun though.  What I didn't get a picture of was him playing duck duck goose.  This was probably the best part.  He ran and chased every time a goose was picked. He didn't just chase the kid either, but ran as far as he could around the gym.  It was pretty funny.

Leah was in both classes with Lukey.  This is them playing in the waiting room.  Lukey took his orange with him to the last class.

stretching

This is typical Lukey during stretches.  Protesting and yelling "No!"  The teacher seemed to like him though and think he was kind of funny.

Lukey being a penguin.

On the last day of both classes the kids got to go in a bounce house.  Both times Lukey said he was too scared to go inside.  So, he played basketball instead.

Waiting in line for the trampoline.

Jumping on the trampoline.  Lukey was a very good jumper!

Lukey's favorite part was always the last 5 minutes where they got to go in the block pit.  I also on a regular basis would have to chase him before he could jump into it during class or have to go into the pit myself to retrieve him.  It was pretty hard walking through those blocks.  If he ever saw the opportunity, he was in there.

Lukey got a ribbon for being so good.  They also got stamps after every class.  He started to like the stamps on his knees.  I don't know how he got the stamp away from the teacher but on the last day he put stamps all over himself.

Singing

He forgot wxyz the first time, so we tried again.  It didn't really work out.

Kent's birthday party

Yesterday, we went to E. Lansing to see the MSU v. U of M baseball game for Kent's birthday party.  It was a lot of fun.  Lukey came too.  Anna stayed at home with her Grammy and Grandpa.  Lukey's favorite part was running the bases.  He had so much fun doing it that he ran the bases twice even though he wasn't supposed to.  The whole MSU baseball team had to wait to bring the tarp on the field because of Lukey.  He had to be escorted off the field by a worker.  He laughed about it and said he wanted to do it again.

Sparty came to visit us.

Lukey said he was scared of Sparty even though he loves looking at pictures of him in his Spartan books.

Lukey and Maeve waiting to run bases.

Maeve running.  I don't have any pictures of Kent running because he was too fast!

Lukey did a really good job of staying on the right path around the bases even when he was out there alone.  We were pretty impressed that he knew how to do that.

After the game, we went to Pizza House.

Easter weekend

We had a busy Easter weekend.  On Friday night, we went to Grammy and Grandpa's house to decorate Easter eggs.

Lukey and Da enjoying the nice weather we had on Saturday.
Later on Saturday, we went to Nana and Pa Bob's house.  Lukey had fun playing outside almost the entire day.

Anna and Maeve.

As usual, the group shots didn't turn out all that successful.  They were kind of funny though.

On Sunday morning, Lukey put on his Easter hat and looked for Easter eggs that the Easter bunny left for him.  He didn't like the jelly beans.  He said they were kind of yucky and kept feeding them to his mommy or da.

I think this was him eating a jelly bean again.
He got pretty excited when the egg was filled with a Peep.

On Sunday, we went out to Howell to Pa Bob's cousin's house.  They had a pretty good egg hunt set up for the kids.

Anna came out for the egg hunt too.

It looks like Lukey was giving Maeve a little tap on the butt.
