End of the year for Lukey

Luke's end of the year music show was very good.  He was not excited about it ahead of time, but looked like he had a lot of fun while he was there.

Anna came too. They had cupcakes, lemonade and candy for the kids after the show.  This was their favorite part.

Luke also celebrated the end of the year with a farm party at the school.  Anna came.  It was a very hot day so the picnic lunch got moved inside.
Lukey had a very successful kindergarten year.  He got all top scores on his last report card and his standardized tests scores were in the 99th percentile.  He did especially good on the last one and his teacher said it was the best score she'd ever seen for a kindergartner.  His favorite thing right now is Captain Underpants books.  He has read all of them.  He also just started the swim team.  On his first event, he won his heat! Around the house, he is usually reading, drawing, making books, or walking around practicing his basketball or soccer skills with a bouncy ball.  He's a pretty good boy.

A soccer star

Luke finished up his soccer year a few weeks ago.  He played the whole year with mostly the same group of boys.  They had a lot of fun together and got a lot better over the year.  At the last game they were each given certificates. Lukey got most improved!

Kick ins are not his strongest area of soccer.  He likes to stand there for quite awhile just staring off until he finally decides to kick the ball.

A dancing poodle rehearsal

Anna had a great time at her dance rehearsal. Her routine was "Dancing Poodles".  They don't let you take pictures during the recital, but during the rehearsal its okay.

For the last few years we've been able to take runs with Da pushing the stroller.  We only took one run like this so far this year.  It might have been the last.  They're getting a little big for the stroller. Just a little.

Annual trip to the Botanical Gardens

This picture gets better every year!

Sometimes when I tell Lukey to put his arm around Anna he ends up putting his arm around her neck.

Anna found a lot of snails.

Anna put her snail on a map.  Then she put it back in the wilderness because we wouldn't let her bring it home.

We saw a wild turkey!

The kids wanted a picture in front of the turkey.  You can't see the turkey in the background at all but the picture turned out nice because they were so happy about the turkey that they were smiling good.

Tulip time

We went to Holland for the tulip festival a few weeks ago.  We saw Maeve do her dutch dance then decided it was too windy to walk around much so we went back to the Morgan's house and drank mint juleps and watched the Kentucky Derby.  The tulips we did see were lovely.

The kids had their usual tulip time cotton candy.

Easter

Oops forgot to post these.  They're not good pictures anyways.  The kids had fun finding Easter eggs on Easter though.

Rubik's cube

On Good Friday, Da took the kids to U of M's campus to see the world's largest Rubik's cube.  It was not solved yet.  It was only the second day it was there.  Da thinks that the girl in the picture is one of the people involved in the project.
