Lukey's birthday party

Lukey was very consistent for months-he wanted a Cookie Monster Party.  Since he hasn't watched Sesame Street for at least 2 years, I was a little nervous that the day of the party he would change his mind and want nothing to do with this idea.  However, he remained really excited about his Cookie Monster theme, so we did it!

Lukey seemed to be somewhat in a daze opening all of the presents since there were so many! This may have been the most that he has ever actually opened up his own presents at his party.  He REALLY likes all of his gifts! He's a lucky boy.  He has been playing with all of his new toys since the party and never wants to stop playing.  He also likes wearing his new pajamas, costumes and clothes.

Lukey did a good job at singing!

Lukey the next day in his pile of gifts.  A very happy boy.

As always, Oliver wanted to be part of the scene.

Beginning of fall pictures

This is Lukey and Anna at the Northville Cider Mill.  We weren't there for long because there were WAY too many bees.

Pa Bob's birthday celebration.  Kent looks scary!

A family game of "take down".

Last weekend we went to the pumpkin patch.  As an added bonus for pictures, construction for Lukey and Anna's new middle school is is going on in the background.

Power lines add to the atmosphere too.  Overall, it really is a good pumpkin patch and its really close, so were make at least one or two trips every year.

I like to meow it...

Anna does a really great dance and sings "I like to meow it meow it!"  She shows this off at the end of this video.  She wanted to play the drums with the song first.  She made up this song after hearing "I like to move it move it!"

Anna

This is what Anna and I did while Lukey was at school today.  Lukey helped with editing these pictures.  He liked Sepia a lot.
It was really sunny out.

Edge blur...shows movement.

Lukey playing soccer

Lukey has been going to soccer class on Sundays this fall.  He does a really good job of playing all the games and has a lot of fun.  He is the loudest there and one of the only ones that responds (very loudly) when then teachers ask them questions.  This embarrassed him a bit last class when the coach asked "is everyone ready?" and Lukey yelled 'YEAH!!!'  The coach appreciated this enthusiasm and walked over to him and told him, "Luke, you don't know how happy I am that you are here!"  Lukey didn't talk for the rest of the class...poor boy was embarrassed.  Hopefully he'll forget about that by next class and be back to his regular excited self!

Nana's birthday weekend and first day of school

This weekend we did our annual girls trip to the Rochester Art Fair.  Maeve and Anna had a lot of fun playing together.

There was a kids arts and crafts area.  The girls made masks.  Anna made a kitty mask.

On Sunday we played and celebrated Nana's birthday.

The candles got re-lit about 5 times so the kids could have multiple times taking turns blowing them out.

Lukey went to his first day of 4 year old pre-school on Monday. He goes 4 mornings a week.  So far he seems to really like it and seems to be doing a great job!  Other than one kid, all of the kids in his class were in the 3 year old program he was in last year.  So, he already knows a lot of the kids.

Apple Orchard

I'm a little behind on the blog, but we went to the Plymouth Apple Orchard about 2 weeks ago.   The kids had fun playing with the animals, but mostly liked sitting on the tractors.

We tried to recreate one of our favorite pictures from last year.  It didn't work at all.

Anna has taken more of an interest in accessorizing lately.

Da bought them some donuts.
