second annual visit to the Easter Eggstravaganza

Lukey and Anna had a great time at the Egg hunt at the Summit with Leah and Juliet.  There was an egg hunt, and animals outside and games, the Easter Bunny, etc. inside.

This is my new favorite picture of Lukey and Leah together.

The babies joined them on the bench.

Lukey really liked his lollipop.

It was J. Boo's first egg hunt outside of the womb.

It was Ina's second egg hunt.  Last year she was just a few weeks old but she was there.

Lukey really liked the animals.

His favorite was this sheep.  The sheep liked him a lot too.

Lukey liked to laugh and tell the sheep to go back in the barn when he'd put his head out.  I think he meant back in the fence.

Anna thought the animals were pretty funny too.

St. Patricks' Day

Lukey had green eggs and ham for breakfast!  He really liked it.

Playing together.

Lukey asked me to take this picture.

Anna walking

Anna has been walking for awhile now.  I realized that I didn't have any video of her beginning steps.  She still seems to prefer crawling but she is walking more and more lately.  She also likes to hold her pacifiers.  Since she's been working on 4 molars in the last few weeks, we've been letting her have them just about as much as she wants, which is all of the time.

Anna's new ride.

Anna likes to try to feed the cats.  She's a lot better at it than Lukey is.  He kind of forces food at them and she gently feeds them.  They hang around her a lot.

Lukey's face when we told him that Anna got to go riding in her new car first.

He did get a turn though.  Peng came too.

She likes her new car.  She looks pretty cool in her new jean jacket.

Lukey told me to take out the camera so I could take a picture of him.  He wanted to pose in front of the picnic set.

He liked the first picture and wanted another one.  This was his next pose.

Anna is 1!!

Anna turned one yesterday!  She had a fun Peep-themed birthday party.  She was a little overwhelmed with the whole thing so hopefully she had fun.  She's accomplished a lot in the last year.  She can now walk (when she feels like it).  Yesterday she didn't want to walk during her whole party but as soon as people left she went halfway across the room.  She just doesn't want to show off.  Her favorite food is cottage cheese.  She likes her cats and is always trying to feed them.  She hasn't liked bottles for months now and doesn't like milk.  She only kind of nurses.  We never even tried to give her formula so I don't know if she would've liked that or not.  Her favorite thing in the world is a pacifier.  If it was up to her, she would always have one in her mouth and one in each hand.  I like to try to keep it out as much as possible though so that she can talk.  She can say mama, da, nana, cat and kick and maybe some other words like yeah and no.  When I tell her to kick in the bathtub she says "kick" and kicks her feet really fast.  She's a really good baby.  She likes to smile and is really nice.  She also really likes Lukey when he's nice to her.  When he's mean she has started to fight back and has been known to leave bite marks on him that last for days.

Anna with Maeve.

Lukey was really excited for Anna's party because it meant that Kent would be coming over.  He waited at the door for about a half hour before Kent arrived.  Luckily Kent was the first to show up.

Anna thanking Uncle Ben for her princess castle.

Opening gifts was a little hectic.  Maeve and Leah "helped" by opening all the gifts and giving them to me before it was possible to figure out who they were from and what went with what.  It was pretty funny.

Leah helping with the gifts.

Maeve, happy to help.

Anna getting a little overwhelmed.

1st Birthdays are hard.

Anna didn't even want her cake when the pacifier was in it.
Anna didn't really like all the attention on her for singing.  She likes people and is a happy baby, but I don't think she likes a lot of attention on her.  Poor girl.  I made her a Peep cake.  This was the only picture I got of it in its whole form. Anna didn't even want to touch it.

A family picture.  Lukey likes to demolish cakes.  Anna gets upset by them.
I told Lukey to give Anna a hug.  I don't think she really liked it though.  Sorry Anna, he wasn't supposed to hug your neck.

cottage cheese and potty

Anna's favorite food right now is easily cottage cheese.

Lukey likes to go to the potty every night.  So far he's only asked to once during the day.   He always needs to read the same book about cars and the alphabet.

Lukey goes to the potty!

I don't have a picture of this of course, but Lukey used the potty for the first time last night!!
He had just had a PU (poo) and it was going to be bathtime soon so I didn't give him a new diaper.  He just ran around a little bit bare-butted and kind of looked like he wanted to pee.  I told him not to go on the floor and if he needed to go to let me know and he could sit down on the potty.  We then went upstairs for bathtime and he opened up his potty and said he had to go potty.  I asked if he wanted to use it and at first he said no.  But then I told him I'd give him some ice cream-pink and green and orange (rainbow sherbet) and he sat down.  At first it "didn't work" but then he did it!!!  Da came up in time to witness the event too and we all cheered.  Anna cheered really big!  We are so proud of him.  Da is going to buy him some ice cream today and we'll try to reserve it as a treat for using the potty. We've been trying to not let him eat sweets lately and we haven't bought sherbet for him for a long time now so it was a special treat for him for being a good boy.   He sleeps in a bed now and loves it and now he might (hopefully) be starting to use the potty...he's getting so big!!

Valentine's Day

This was Anna's first Valentine's Day.  We celebrated by making a fancy dinner and making chocolate covered strawberries and chocolate covered peeps.  Lukey had his first filet mignon.  He really liked it.

We haven't updated the blog in awhile because its kind of a boring time of year.  Not much is going on. Lukey had fun painting last week though.  He then started to look at the wall and say, "paint the wall?"  I didn't let him though.  He started gymnastics and is getting pretty good at it.  He still tries to run away from me a lot of the time to go do whatever he feels like doing instead of what he's supposed to do, but I think he's been improving a lot.  We're starting to look at preschool options for him for next year.

Ina in a tunnel with Oliver.

Anna will be 1 in less than a month!  She wanted to practice wearing her tutu so she's prepared for the occasion.
