Thanksgiving during covid times

Since we weren't able to spend time with family this year for Thanksgiving due to stupid covid, we decided to book a last minute trip to Hilton Head.   It was wonderful.  Weather was in the 70s and sunny all week.  They were also able to play with their Savannah cousins at the beach.

We stayed in the Palmetto Dunes area of Hilton Head that had a great path that led through palm trees, golf courses, ponds, Spanish moss, other trees, etc.  Very lovely.

We walked up to Shelter Cove Harbour and Marina a few times.  There stands the tallest working sundial.  They decorated Neptune for Christmas.  We walked up there one night and it looked really cool with the lights lit up.  A bunch of the surrounding boats and yachts had Christmas lights on them too.  Very festive.

The pool at our condo was great! It was oceanside and they kept it very warm.  We swam laps a few mornings and had the pool and hot tub to ourselves!

Sunrise and tidepools

Anna found a few cool shells, a sand dollar and a shrimp.  There were also tons of dolphins.  We saw them every day.  One day we saw a guy catch a shark. That was a little creepy.

The view from our balcony.  The kids had their own balcony too.  It was wonderful to sit out there each night and drink wine and listen to the sea.  The kids stayed in and watched movies.

The cousins came to visit! They had a lot of fun playing on the beach and swimming in the pool

On Thanksgiving, we did our own turkey trot on the beach then swam laps in the pool so that we could get ready to eat lots of food that night.  We had a traditional Thanksgiving meal. It was very good. Anna only ate ambrosia salad, but she was excited about that.

Dance pictures

The dance recital was cancelled this year, so we did backyard photos to make use of the costumes.
