New Years

For New Years Eve we stayed in and drank champagne and ate fondue and watched a movie.  We also talked about resolutions.  Nothing too interesting.  On New Years Day we drove to the Sandusky Great Wolf Lodge with Leah and Juliet's family.  It was a lot of fun!  A perfect little trip.  We had a pretty cool room with a "kid cabin" inside.  These pictures didn't stay in order so its a mix of New Years Eve and New Years.

Katherine and I convinced Tim and Chris to go down the slide together just because we thought it would be a funny picture.  πŸ˜‚

A toothy picture of Anna.  She lost her first tooth a few weeks ago at school and lost the second during break.  She is like Lukey about her teeth and lets them get so loose that they hang by a thread for a few days then just fall out on their own.  She doesn't want to pull on them because she says it will hurt too much.

We got some fake champagne for the kids.  Anna loved it and Lukey thought it was just okay.  She was also very excited about using real champagne glasses and thought the Waterford ones Tim and I were using were amazing.

Luke liked some of the slides and Anna liked some of the small slides.  Their favorite thing though seemed to be the lazy river.

At night we got some pizza and took over almost all the couches in the lobby to eat dinner.  They had a fun dance party and a kind of boring puppet show.  Then pretend snow came down in the lobby.  After fun in the lobby we went back to Leah and Juliet's room and the kids played.  They had a little too much fun though and a worker came to our room and told us to pipe down because there was a noise complaint.  Oops.

Why, it's Christmas Day!

On Christmas we went to Aunt Roselyn and Uncle Dennis's.  We had a time!  We didn't do our usual picture outside because Kent was sick, so him and Pat weren't there.  Also the wind chills were close to 0, so no need this year.

Christmas Eve/a sad day for Gingerbread houses

We worked hard to make gingerbread walls for all the kids to all build gingerbread houses.  Anna was especially excited to make a gingerbread house with Uncle Ben because he did a great job working with her last time we did this.  Unfortunately, this year Uncle Ben had too many drinks before and wasn't very helpful and the house he started for her could barely stay up.
Just Luke, Anna and Maeve were interested in making houses.  They had fun.  This is probably a tradition that won't be repeated with the cousins.😞Too much work to prepare for and not enough interest from all the kids.

Anna was very careful making her patterns and putting her candy on.

Maeve worked hard too and her house looked great!  She even used her little gingerbread man we made. πŸ’•

Lukey's house looked great too!

The sad walls on Anna's house that kept falling.

The Eve of the Eve

This year the Z family Christmas celebration was a Aunt Steph and Uncle Rob's house.  The cousins had a lot of fun playing with each other.

Some of my favorite pictures of Lukey are when he has the expression on his face like he's thinking "huh??"

Earlier that day Nana and Pa surprised the kids with Nintendo Switch.  Otherwise some of the games they would get that evening wouldn't make any sense.  They've had a lot of fun playing the Nintendo Switch over break.
