The Arb to see the Peonies

Our peonies are about to bloom so we thought this would be a good time to go see the peonies at the Arb.  About half of them were bloomed there and there were also a lot of really pretty flowers along the path.

Lukey brought Heatwave and Bumblebee with him for the walk and positioned them on benches, steps and logs along the way.

This snake wanted to see the peonies too.

A highlight of the trip was throwing rocks in the river.

They were really good walkers.  We told them to count the steps so they wouldn't mind walking up them (a trick my parents used on me when I was a little tike) and they counted all the way up.  They didn't really count the steps.  They just counted.

Annual trip to the Botanical Gardens

We tried to recreate one of my very favorite pictures of Lukey with Da from 4 years ago.  Even though it was just to be funny, looking at it makes me a little weepy to see how big he's gotten.
Anna kissing the purple puffy flowers.  She was in heaven with all the flowers at the Botanical Gardens.  She called all the little white flowers Edelweisses and the little yellow ones buttercups.

It was actually a little disappointing that they smiled on the turtle this year.  I kind of preferred the really bored looking out in to space look they both had last year.

We also went into the conservatory to look at some plants and saw a few fish there as well.

I tried to get a picture of the kids in front of this babbling brook, but they wanted to fight instead.

Both kids walked most of the time around the path but Anna got tired a little bit and needed a ride.

Anna was very pleased to be allowed to pick flowers.

At the conservatory, a worker gave Lukey a bingo scavenger hunt sheet. He had a lot of fun looking for all the items along the path and gardens.  His reward was a sticker.

Lukey filled his pockets up with rocks he collected.  Anna also collected rocks and flowers.  They were very busy.

A new baby girl cousin!

Today we met Uncle Jamie and Auntie Beth's new baby girl, Brooklyn!  Lukey and Anna were very excited to meet their cousin.

She was awake when we first got there.  Then she fell asleep.  She was very nice.

Zoo

Today after I picked up Lukey from school we went to the zoo.  This was in front of some camels and some kind of horses.  Great picture.

The kids said their favorite thing to look at today was the flamingos because they're silly and stand on one leg.

Breaking the rules...they're not keeping off the fence.
