Trick or Treating in Plymouth

This is not a trick or treating picture.  The kids sat under here nicely together and said they were camping while Da played good songs on the piano such as the 90210 and Star Wars theme songs.

Anna dressed like Anna and Lukey dressed like Olaf before we left for Pumpkinpalooza in Downtown Plymouth.  They had a lot of fun trick or treating  Lukey didn't ask to eat much candy because he's pretty good about being healthy.  Anna on the other hand didn't want to stop eating candy.  In the car she kept asking for more candy and wasn't very happy about getting cut off.

We met up with Leah and Juliet there.  There were a lot of Frozen costumes and activities so we fit right in with the crowd.

Anna and a kitty.

Anna and Elsa were there too.  Lukey refused to take a picture with them.

The kids at the end of the afternoon eating their sweat tart suckers. It was a great event!

Anna the artist

For a few Thursdays this month, while Lukey is at school, Anna and I go to Messy Art Class at the Summit with Leah and Juliet.  She really likes it.  We've painted, made shirts and have been working on making a paper mache pumpkin.  Lukey is very jealous  of this class.  I've told him we can sign up for a class if he starts doing art at school.  So far I don't think this has convinced him to take any interest in art projects at school.

I don't know why Anna does this face when I tell her to smile.  She always closes her eyes when anyone tells her to smile for pictures.

She learned how to mix red and yellow paint to make an orange pumpkin!

Happy Birthday Lukey!

We spent Lukey's birthday doing what he wanted to do.  We went to Meijer in the morning and he got to look at toys for longer than usual then got to pick out one toy.  He chose a little Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader figurine set.  Then, for an early dinner we went to Chuck E. Cheese's.  It was nice and empty there because we were there early and the kids had a lot of fun.  Anna was really good at getting ticket from games.  One time she won 100 at one time!  Too bad after we got in the car I realized that there were still a whole bunch in my pocket after we already turned in our tickets for prizes...oh well.  The prizes are pretty much trash anyways.

The kids played head shoulder knees and toes with Chuck E. for tokens.

Lukey took me to school with him on the Monday after his birthday.  We had a lot of fun. He's making good friends there, learning a lot, and on most days is good about listening to the teacher.  (yes, there have been some issues with how stubborn he is and playing too wild, but this is his birthday post-I'll try to stay positive.)  He is a very smart, handsome 4 year old boy!  He has made a lot of progress in the last year.  He is getting good at playing sports, has started to read a little, is a wonderful singer, is very funny and entertaining, and has gotten better about understanding how to follow rules and listen and he is very cuddly and nice.  He is also very nice to his sister most of the time.  Happy Birthday to Lukey!

Lukey's birthday party

Lukey was very consistent for months-he wanted a Cookie Monster Party.  Since he hasn't watched Sesame Street for at least 2 years, I was a little nervous that the day of the party he would change his mind and want nothing to do with this idea.  However, he remained really excited about his Cookie Monster theme, so we did it!

Lukey seemed to be somewhat in a daze opening all of the presents since there were so many! This may have been the most that he has ever actually opened up his own presents at his party.  He REALLY likes all of his gifts! He's a lucky boy.  He has been playing with all of his new toys since the party and never wants to stop playing.  He also likes wearing his new pajamas, costumes and clothes.

Lukey did a good job at singing!

Lukey the next day in his pile of gifts.  A very happy boy.

As always, Oliver wanted to be part of the scene.

Beginning of fall pictures

This is Lukey and Anna at the Northville Cider Mill.  We weren't there for long because there were WAY too many bees.

Pa Bob's birthday celebration.  Kent looks scary!

A family game of "take down".

Last weekend we went to the pumpkin patch.  As an added bonus for pictures, construction for Lukey and Anna's new middle school is is going on in the background.

Power lines add to the atmosphere too.  Overall, it really is a good pumpkin patch and its really close, so were make at least one or two trips every year.
