Botanical Gardens

Today we went to the botanical gardens in Ann Arbor.  Turns out it was a little too early in the year to see any flowers.  Oh well. I dressed the kids in matching outfits hoping for some good pictures of them together.  They didn't really hang out near each other enough for this to be possible so that didn't really work out. We had fun though.  We went for a walk around to the pond where Da proposed to Mommy.   Lukey walked/ran the entire time.  It was about 2 miles long.

I thought the grass was a good setting for a picture of Ina but I couldn't get her too smile.  She was too distracted.

Lukey saying "cheese!"

The proposal bench.  Anna's hat fell off but Tim refused to get down on his knee to fix it.  I thought that would've been a good picture.  This was at the end of the walk.  You can see how Lukey looks exhausted.  I carried Anna most of the time so she was doing fine.

Water table and pool

We got the water table out this week.  It was Anna's first time really getting to play with it.  She loved it.  Lukey really liked it too.

Mother's Day and painting

Kent really knows how to make Anna laugh.  She even got excited when she saw this picture.

These boys are extremely wild together.  It's a little scary at times but they seem to have fun.

Yesterday, Lukey decided that he wanted to paint.  So, they put smocks on (which Lukey thinks is hilarious) and painted.  This was Anna's first time.  They are both natural artists.

Juliet's birthday party

On Saturday evening, we went to Juliet's house to celebrate her 1st birthday.  The kids had fun playing together and having cupcakes.  Happy Birthday, Juliet!  (or as Lukey says "Julilet")
Anna wasn't so into eating cake for her own first birthday, but she was sure excited about her cupcake at Juliet's house.

This is how she ate most of it.

Juliet eating her cupcake.  This little girl ate just about all of that big cupcake!  She looked very proud of herself.

A Day out with Thomas

Today we took the kids to see Thomas at Greenfield Village.  It was a lot of fun!  They both really liked it and got REALLY excited when they first saw him puffing down the track.  They also enjoyed the ride.  Lukey sat there and smiled and Anna smiled at the little boys behind us for most of the ride.  She especially liked when we passed a field of sheep.

A lot of people passing on the train liked seeing Anna and Lukey waving to them.

Lukey met Sir Topham Hatt.  You can't tell by the picture but this was really a person dressed up, not a statue.

One of Anna's favorite parts was a park area where there were a lot of bubbles blowing around.    We spent a long time there.  Then it was time to go to White Castle and go home.  (White Castle was better than ever!  Both kids enjoyed it!)

Tulip Festival and baseball game

Yesterday, we went to Holland to see the Tulip festival.  We also got to see Kent's baseball game in the morning.  He was really good!

Kent was playing shortstop and instead of passing the ball to 1st, he'd run over and hand it to the 1st base player because whenever he tried passing it, the kid never caught it.  I think this was good teamwork.  It was kind of funny to watch too.

At the tulip festival there were a lot of fun activities for the kids.  There was a animal show.  Lukey only stayed by the animals for a little bit though because he noticed a big park down the hill and had to see it.

Kent got to pick up a sheep.  I didn't get to see the main part of the show because I was with Lukey at the park, but it sounds like Kent was the star of the animal show and had a pig up his shirt at some point.

Lukey and Anna looking at the baby animals.  Anna had a great time the whole day!  She loved seeing the animals and walking around town.  She usually prefers being carried everywhere, but yesterday insisted upon walking around the festival and downtown.

The tulips were pretty.  They were everywhere.
