Ann Arbor Botanical Gardens

The 6th Annual visit to the botanical gardens.  6 years ago this is where Da proposed to Ma.  A lot of things have been added to the gardens in the last few years. It's a great place to visit with the kids.  They had a great time.  Lukey enjoyed playing in the sprinklers and seeing the plants and Anna enjoyed sleeping.

Luke loves turtles.

We told Lukey that this ram is a yak because he is so funny when he says "yak".

Kids aren't supposed to play in the pools and streams; it is really hard to stop Lucas when there is water around.

Substitute for streams.

We played in the sprinklers for a long time.

Last time Lukey took a picture by these flowers with his Da he was smiling.  This time he just wanted more sprinklers.

Anna and her Ma liked the orange flowers.

Anna's stylish bathing suit.

Lukey wanted to sit in his water table.

Kind of evil looking...

This boy ate almost half of a watermelon.

Anna and Juliet

Juliet's mom and Anna's mom have been best friends for over 20 years.  These two are going to be best friends some day too.  This is their first picture together.

Lukey at Sunrise

On the last morning on our trip to the Outer Banks, Lukey and I walked to the beach to see the sunrise.  We were lucky and got there just in time to see the sun come up!  It was beautiful!

Anna on the car ride home.  This week she has gotten really good at smiling!

Beach

Lukey absolutely loved the beach.  It was hard to keep up with him.  He wanted to run right into the ocean.    Someone had to hold him back at all times.
Lukey, Anna, and their cousins Kent and Maeve all bought white and khaki outfits with the intention of us having a professional photo shoot.  Even Auntie Carrie and I had all white outfits.  After we saw how wild all the kids were at the beach we realized that it was not going to be possible.  Especially with Lukey.  Oh well.  We still dressed in our outfits and took our own pictures.  Mostly with Auntie Carrie's camera.  Hopefully she'll send us those pictures soon..

Anna on the beach.  This picture didn't come out exactly how I wanted..

Lukey and Mama on the balcony at Auntie Roselyn's house.

We took a trip to the Aquarium.  Lukey and Anna enjoyed seeing all the fish.

Lukey was almost as crazy with the pool as he was at the beach. He constantly wanted to run and try to jump in the pool.  I tried to swim with him once but he didn't really want to do that. He more wanted to run around, throw balls in the water and dive in.   I forgot to bring his monkey leash so I had to buy this lion leash while we were there.  Well worth it.

Nana with Lukey and Anna.

Lukey and I went on a few short morning walks together.  It was wonderful.

Nana and Lukey at Jockey Ridge sand dunes.  Lukey's favorite part was a big puddle before we got to the dunes.  He didn't have much interest in the dunes themselves but he loved to play in the puddle.
